Why it’s Okay to be a Couch Potato Sometimes
It’s a few days after Christmas. What that means (in all probability) is that you’ve finally created a personalized dent in your couch. It matches your body, supports you in all the wrong areas, and even has a slot for your remote control. This must be some sort of “couch potato achievement”. Perhaps you are feeling good about this achievement, and perhaps not. Allow me to convince you that you are completely justified in being a couch potato, given some assumptions of course.
Is it Bad to be Lazy?
This is a bit of an odd question isn’t it? One’s first instinct is likely to say “Hell yes it’s bad”. Let’s have a look at the extremes and see what we have.
If you have way too much lazy-time, which we can define as “time where one is being unproductive”, then you are simply not being productive. Perhaps you are getting little to no work done at all. This also likely means that you don’t have any goals, at least none that are engaging and meaningful. This extends into a deeply unsatisfying life.
When you are being too lazy you are continually choosing to do what is easy as opposed to what is meaningful. Meaning just so happens to be found through adopting responsibility, and adopting responsibility is no joke. It means you have to do not-so-easy things. It means you are the one to…
