Our parents, for many of us, represent “god” in our eyes when we’re young. We think of them as perfect, and that they have all the answers. Somewhere along the line, you realize that they’re just regular, flawed people. They’re not Gods. But for a very significant part of our life, we consider our parents to represent our ideal.

Who Do You Respect?

Maybe today, your boss at work is someone that you are striving to be like. Maybe you respect more than one person. Maybe you respect 10 people equally. You have your boss at work, your neighbour, your old family friend, one or two of your parents, another friend, etc. You can ask yourself: “what values are common among them all?” to determine what you value.
